Tuffield, authors nominated for Women of the Year list on ‘Daily Life’

Affirm Press publisher Aviva Tuffield and a number of Australian authors have been nominated for this year’s Women of the Year list on news website Daily Life.

Tuffield, who joined Affirm Press as publisher in August this year, is nominated in the arts category of the list. Tuffield is also chair of the Stella Prize, which she helped establish in 2011

Authors nominated for the list include Carrie Tiffany (Mateship with Birds, Picador) and Marieke Hardy (You’ll Be Sorry When I’m Dead, A&U) in the arts category; Anne Summers (The Misogyny Factor, NewSouth) in the politics category; and Anna Krien (Night Games, Black Inc.) and Anna Goldsworthy (Quarterly Essay 50, Unfinished Business: Sex, Freedom and Misogyny, Black Inc.) in the media category.

The Daily Life website asks readers to nominate women for the list, which it says highlights those who have ‘gone above and beyond to make a strong, public stand on issues that are important to women’ and those whose work ‘supports and promotes other women’.

Voting for the Women of the Year list closes on 24 November, ahead of the list announcement in December. For more information, visit the website here.
