Pan Macmillan to publish ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ novellas

Pan Macmillan Australia has announced that it will partner with US daytime television show The Bold and the Beautiful to publish a series of novellas based on the show.

The first two novellas in the series will be published in print by Pan Macmillan and as ebooks by Pan Macmillan’s digital imprint Momentum in February. Forbidden Affair by Amy Andrews and Collision Course by Shannon Curtis have been written in collaboration with The Bold and the Beautiful executive producer and head writer Bradley P Bell. Two further titles will be published in April.

A spokesperson for Pan Macmillan told Books+Publishing that this will be the first time that books based on the television series are published. Pan Macmillan and Momentum hold global rights to the titles.

‘Getting the opportunity to work with such a successful international brand as The Bold and the Beautiful and bring new stories to a global audience in print and digital is a hugely exciting experience for us all,’ said Momentum’s Joel Naoum and Pan Macmillan’s Claire Craig in a statement this week.

The Bold and the Beautiful first aired on television in 1987. The show is broadcast in over 100 countries and will celebrate its 27th anniversary in March 2014.
