Australian Romance Readers Awards 2013 winners announced

Newcomer Kylie Scott was named Favourite Australian Romance Author at the Australian Romance Readers Awards in Sydney on 22 March.

Scott was selected from a shortlist of 10 authors, which included historical fiction author Anna Campbell, who has won the award for the past four years. Scott also won Favourite Erotic Romance for her zombie romance novel Skin (Momentum).  

The winners in the other categories were:

  • Favourite Continuing Romance Series: ‘Sons of Sin’ (Anna Campbell, HarperCollins)
  • Favourite Romantic Suspense: Half Moon Bay (Helene Young, Michael Joseph)
  • Favourite Contemporary Romance: Holding Out for a Hero (Amy Andrews, Momentum)
  • Favourite Historical Romance: Untamed (Anna Cowan, Michael Joseph)
  • Favourite Sci-Fi, Fantasy or Futuristic Romance: Allegiance Sworn (Kylie Griffin, Berkley)
  • Favourite Paranormal Romance: Heart of Obsidian (Nalini Singh, Victor Gollancz)  
  • Favourite Short Category Romance: The One That Got Away (Kelly Hunter, Harlequin).

 

The winners of the Members’ Choice awards were also announced. They were:

  • Favourite Cover: Half Moon Bay (Helene Young, Michael Joseph)
  • Sexiest Hero: Daniel Montgomery in Outback Dreams (Rachael Johns, Harlequin)
  • Favourite New Romance Author: Anna Cowan.
