ABA Booksellers of the Year 2014 finalists announced

The finalists for the 2014 Australian Booksellers Association (ABA) Booksellers of the Year awards have been announced.

The finalists for the Text Publishing Bookseller of the Year award are:

  • Jenny Barry, Books Plus, Bathurst, NSW
  • Stefen Brazulaitis, Stefen’s Books, Perth
  • Annie Grossman, Annie’s Books on Peregian, Peregian Beach, Qld
  • Chantel Sulaiman, Robinson’s Bookshop, Melbourne
  • John Mitchell, Mary Ryan’s, Byron Bay, NSW.

 

The finalists for the Penguin Random House Young Bookseller of the Year award are:

  • Anna Carles, Book Bazaar, Umina Beach, NSW
  • Samuel Williams, Mostly Books, Adelaide
  • Helene Byfield, Books Kinokuniya, Sydney
  • Miranda La Fleur, Readings, Melbourne
  • Amelia Lush, Better Read Than Dead, Sydney
  • Kirsty-Lee Workman, Mary Ryan’s, Brisbane. 

 

The winners will be announced during this year’s ABA Conference on 18 May in Melbourne, along with the recipient of the Guild Insurance Elizabeth Riley Scholarship for Children’s Bookselling and the Nielsen BookData Booksellers Choice Award.

In 2013, Martin Shaw from Readings in Melbourne won the Text Publishing Bookseller of the Year award and Louise Fay from Dymocks Adelaide won the Random House Young Bookseller of the Year award.
