RWA ‘Ruby’ award finalists announced

The finalists for the Romance Writers of Australia (RWA) Romantic Book of the Year award, known as ‘the Ruby’, have been announced.

The finalists in each category are:

‘Short sexy’:

  • What the Bride Didn’t Know (Kelly Hunter, Harlequin Kiss)
  • One Secret Night (Yvonne Lindsay, Harlequin)
  • Never Say No to a Caffarelli (Melanie Milburne, Harlequin)
  • A Price Worth Paying? (Trish Morey, Harlequin)

 

‘Short sweet’:

  • One Life Changing Moment (Lucy Clark, Mills & Boon)
  • Gold Coast Angels: Bundle of Trouble (Fiona Lowe, Harlequin)
  • A Father at Last (Julie Mac, Escape)
  • Secrets of a Career Girl (Carol Marinelli, Mills & Boon)

 

‘Stories with romantic elements’:

  • Under the Hood (Juanita Kees, Escape)
  • Nobody But Him (Victoria Purman, MIRA)
  • Currawong Creek (Jennifer Scoullar, Penguin)
  • Lost in Kakadu (Kendall Talbot, Escape)

 

‘Long romance’ (tied entries resulted in six titles and five author finalists):

  • Holding Out for a Hero (Amy Andrews, Momentum Moonlight)
  • A Prior Engagement (Karina Bliss, Mills & Boon)
  • Letter from a Rake (Sasha Cottman, Penguin)
  • The Dissolute Duke (Sophia James, Harlequin)
  • Mistress at Midnight (Sophia James, Harlequin)
  • Her Favourite Rival (Sarah Mayberry, Harlequin).

 

The winners of the Ruby are announced at an awards dinner at the RWA conference ‘Romance Rocks’, which will be held from 7 to 10 August 2014.
