Your Bookshop to be event bookseller at Book Expo Australia

Sydney independent bookselling chain Your Bookshop will be the event bookseller at Book Expo Australia, which takes place at the Sydney Showground on 29-31 August.

Your Bookshop co-owner Bonnie Serov told Books+Publishing that the bookseller ‘will have a stall throughout the weekend, selling titles by authors on panels and workshops, as well as those there just for book signings’.

The Book Expo store will be the second major event store for Your Bookshop this month, following the Romance Writers of Australia conference in Sydney. ‘There’s a lot of preparation that goes into ordering stock, packing, shipping to venues, displaying, and hopefully selling stock,’ said Serov. ‘I’ve had to enlist the help of family and friends to get us through.’

Serov said she and her husband Mark ‘jumped on the idea’ to host the event store after Book Expo Australia organiser Sandra Wigzell contacted them during the week.

As previously reported by Books+Publishing, Book Expo Australia ‘has evolved to be a sort of writers festival meets Comic Con’.
