Moriarty’s ‘Little Big Lies’ optioned for film by Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman’s production companies have optioned the film rights to Big Little Lies by Australian author Liane Moriarty (Pan Macmillan).

Deadline Hollywood reports that Kidman and Witherspoon ‘will shape the novel … as a star vehicle for themselves’, and that Moriarty will ‘serve in a producing capacity’.  

Big Little Lies ‘tells the comic tale of three mothers of kindergartners whose apparently perfect lives unravel to the point of murder’. It was published in Australia and the US in July, and has already entered the bestseller charts in the US.
