Stella Prize to launch secondary schools program

The Stella Prize Schools Program will launch in Melbourne on 10 September with a free event for teachers, librarians, educators and students.

The event will feature Australian authors Carrie Tiffany, Cate Kennedy and Tony Birch in conversation with Bec Kavanagh.

The Schools Program is designed for secondary school students and offers practical writing workshops, teaching notes on all Stella Prize-shortlisted books (for years 10 to 12), and school visits from writers, educators and publishers.

The Victorian pilot program will commence in Term 3 in 2014.  The program will be offered in other states and territories from 2015.
