PRH creates Penguin Publishing Group for adult imprints
In the US, Penguin Random House (PRH) has announced the creation of a new Penguin Publishing Group that will house all of Penguin’s adult imprints, reports Publishers Weekly. The new group will be overseen by PRH’s president of US operations and COO Madeline McIntosh. As part of the restructure, Susan Petersen Kennedy, president of Penguin Group US, will be leaving the company at the end of the year. PRH CEO Markus Dohle said the new group reflects PRH’s need for ‘more unified publishing strategies across all formats’. ‘That is why the time is right to create a one-leader management structure for the entire Penguin adult business, while also maintaining the identity of each of its individual publishing imprints,’ said Dohle. A number of other staff changes were also announced as part of the restructure.
