UQP to publish modern classics series

The University of Queensland Press is publishing a series of ‘UQP Modern Classics’.

The new series features early works from Australian authors previously published by UQP that have been ‘repackaged for a contemporary audience at a competitive price point’, said UQP in a statement.

‘We initially trialled Gillian Mears’ Fineflour in 2013 and as a result of keen interest, have decided to bring more of our backlist to new audiences,’ marketing and publicity manager Meredene Hill told Books+Publishing.

Forthcoming titles include Olga Masters’ Loving Daughters (October), Kate Grenville’s Joan Makes History (November), Elizabeth Jolley’s Miss Peabody’s Inheritance (January 2015) and Thea Astley’s Descant for Gossips (April 2015).

The books are priced at $19.95. View the cover designs here.
