SPN conference draft program released, tickets on sale

The Small Press Network has released a draft program for its third Independent Publishing Conference, which will be held in Sydney from 13 to 14 November.

The first day of the conference will be the academic day, convened by Aaron Mannion and Beth Driscoll from the University of Melbourne. Twenty papers across a range of topics will be presented and Simone Murray from Monash University will present a keynote address. Full details of Thursday’s program are yet to be released.

The second day of the conference will be the industry day, with panel sessions on topics such as marketing, PR and distribution; international rights and book fairs; partnerships and community-building; and book retailing. Susan Hawthorne, co-founder of Spinifex Press, will present a keynote address, expanding on her forthcoming book Bibliodiversity: A Manifesto for Independent Publishing. A draft version of the program is available here.

Tickets for the conference are now on sale here. Those who purchase full-price tickets in September can receive an earlybird discount by entering ‘EARLY’ in the discount field.
