Finalists selected for Frankfurt digital publishing contest

Five finalists have been selected for the Frankfurt Book Fair’s Digital Publishing Creative Ideas Contest and will present their projects at the content and technology conference CONTEC on 7 October. The finalists are: TwoReads (Italy), a book discovery platform that ‘establishes content-related links between books’; Papertrell (India), ‘a cloud-based platform offering many different features for the publication of book apps’; Oetinger34 (Germany), an online community that brings together writers and illustrators ‘to collaborate with editors to produce their books, ebooks and apps’; OECD Data (France), a website that stores statistical content ‘dynamically’; and Consetto (Germany), a program that offers analysis of customer interaction. ‘We believe that these five companies belong on the list of companies to watch,’ said Holger Volland, vice president media industries. ‘The solutions presented here for creating, retrieving, visualising and distributing digital content were all genuinely innovative and consumer-friendly.’ The winner will be announced at CONTEC.
