‘Guardian’ children’s fiction prize shortlist announced

In the UK, the shortlist for the Guardian children’s fiction prize has been announced. The shortlisted titles are: Flora & Ulysses (Kate DiCamillo, Candlewick Press); The Dark Wild (Piers Torday, Quercus); Phoenix (S F Said, Corgi); and We Were Liars (E Lockhart, A&U). Founded in 1967, the Guardian children’s fiction prize is for fiction written for children aged eight and above, and first published in the UK. The award is judged by children’s authors.
