Blurb launches ‘Dream Team’ marketplace of publishing experts

Self-publishing service provider Blurb has launched its ‘Dream Team’ marketplace to help authors discover freelance editors and designers to finalise their books, reports Venture Beat. The company aims to simplify the publishing process for writers without publishing experience and acts as a digital and print book distribution service. The ‘Dream Team’ marketplace is a free service that lets authors find and hire publishing freelancers such as editors, cover artists, illustrators, designers and photographers. Blurb has vetted each of the collaborators on the marketplace and aims to introduce a feedback system for authors to rate and review collaborators. ‘One of the main requests we get from authors using Blurb is if we can introduce them to an editor or designer,’ said Blurb founder and CEO Eileen Gittins. ‘We did start to realize authors who hired two collaborators had a significantly higher chance of completing their book.’
