Amazon releases ‘best books’ of 2014

Amazon has released its ‘best books’ lists for 2014, and has ranked Australian author Liane Moriarty’s novel Big Little Lies (Pan Macmillan) in ninth position in its top 100 list. Editors at Amazon selected the 100 titles from its lists of monthly favourites, with Celeste Ng’s debut novel Everything I Never Told You (Little, Brown) taking out the top spot. All the Light We Cannot See (Anthony Doerr, HarperCollins) came second, followed by In the Kingdom of Ice: The Grand and Terrible Polar Voyage of the USS Jeannette (Hampton Sides, Knopf). Top titles were also announced across 20 different categories, including celebrity picks.
