‘Chart Collective’ launches ‘Longer Light’ online publishing project

The Chart Collective, a not-for-profit publishing venture supported by the Lifted Brow, has launched an online publishing project that explores summer rituals.

The ‘Longer Light’ series will feature 12 different works of writing, photography, music, art and film that ‘explore the idea that our personal rituals—from the mundane to the grand—tether us to special places and particular times’. Instalments will ‘detail, document or respond to’ a typical summer ritual and be published online on a weekly basis to ‘plot the arc of an Australian summer’.

Among the writers and illustrators contributing to the series are Jessie Cole, Maxine Beneba-Clarke, Rebecca Giggs, Ellen van Neerven and Ambelin Kwaymullina.

The first piece in the series is written by Cole and will be published on 15 December. Find out more about the series here.
