Digital Book Awards 2015 winners announced

The Digital Book Awards were announced in New York on 14 January as part of the Digital Book World (DBW) conference. Among the winners in the flowable ebook categories were Chinese Whispers (John Ashbery, Open Road Integrated Media) for adult fiction, Women in Clothes (Sheila Heti, Heidi Julavits & Leanne Shapton, Penguin) for adult nonfiction, and You Choose: Scooby-Doo! The Terror of the Bigfoot Beast (Laurie S Sutton, Capstone Young Readers) for children. In the fixed format/enhanced ebook categories, the winners were The Truth Is a Cave in the Black Mountains (Neil Gaiman, William Morrow) for adult fiction, Penny Chic: How to Be Stylish on a Real Girl’s Budget (Shauna Miller, Little, Brown) for adult nonfiction, and Virginia Wolf (Kyo Maclear, created by Danielle Mulhall & Laura Brady, Kids Can Press) for children. Winners were also announced for best academic/reference ebooks, for best ebook cover design and best apps. ‘The Digital Book Awards are devoted to identifying those ebooks and book apps that are the most successful and significant, said awards host and publishing veteran Ira Wolfman. ‘This year’s list of nominees and winners offers inspiring examples to ebook developers, and invaluable guidance to consumers looking for high quality, exciting content.’ To see the full list of winners and nominees, click here.
