Case appointed program manager at MWF

Writer, editor and bookseller Jo Case has joined the Melbourne Writers Festival (MWF) as its new program manager.

Case, who joins the team in February, will replace program manager and schools’ program director Mike Shuttleworth, who, ‘after managing three huge festival programs for MWF, is currently having a well-deserved rest’, said director Lisa Dempster.

Dempster told Books+Publishing that Case ‘will be responsible for developing and delivering the festival’s broad program of four-hundred-plus events’.

‘Jo Case has been involved with all aspects of Melbourne’s writing, publishing and bookselling industry for over twenty years, and alongside her wealth of literary knowledge, is bringing some very exciting ideas that will assist MWF to inspire and delight local audiences,’ said Dempster.

Case, who currently works as a senior writer and editor at the Wheeler Centre and a bookseller at the Sun Bookshop, told Books+Publishing that the role was her ‘dream job’.
