Adelaide Writers’ Week 2015 program launched

The 2015 Adelaide Writers’ Week program has been launched.

The event will run from Saturday 28 February to Thursday 5 March at the Pioneer Women’s Memorial Garden in Adelaide. As previously reported by Books+Publishing, the line-up of international guests includes John Lanchester (UK), Michel Faber (UK), Esther Freud (UK), Tom Rob Smith (UK), Dan Barber (US), Joanna Rakoff (US), Tom Rachman (CAN) and Linn Ullmann (Norway).

A number of other international guests have been announced, including Nicholas Shakespeare (UK), Willy Vlautin (US), Carl Hoffman (US), Ken Babstock (CAN), Martha Baillie (CAN), Elia Barceló (SPA), Marcos Giralt-Torrente (SPA) and Cat Thao Nguyen (Vietnam).

Among the newly announced Australian and New Zealand authors on the program are Julia Gillard, Robert Dessaix, Sophie Cunningham, David Marr and Omar Musa.

The Kids’ Weekend children’s program runs from Saturday 28 February to Sunday 1 March. Guests appearing this year include Andy Griffiths, Ted Prior, Andrew Joyner, Nest Studio and Evelyn Roth’s Nylon Zoo.

This year’s ticketed session, The Third Plate, is a lunch event with author and chef Dan Barber. The event will include lunch, wine and a discussion on the politics of food. Most other sessions in the program are free with no bookings required.

The Adelaide Writers’ Week is part of the Adelaide Festival, which runs from Friday 27 February to Sunday 15 March. Both are celebrating their 30th event this year. For more information, visit the Adelaide Festival website here.
