S&S launches North Star Way

Simon & Schuster US has launched North Star Way, an imprint and service to help authors to build their public profile, said the company in a statement. North Star Way will partner with authors of nonfiction, particularly in the categories of self-improvement, mind/body/spirit, motivation, wellness, and business inspiration and leadership. The service will offer online courses, seminars, workshops, mobile applications, videos and audiobooks to help authors to increase their audience, grow their careers and maximise sales across various mediums. Simon & Schuster vice-president and publisher Michele Martin, who will lead North Star Way, said the service will look for ‘entrepreneurs, experts, inspirational figures—sometimes even well before they have written a book—with whom we can partner to build an audience and generate revenue, whether it be from publishing or other sources.’ In 2016 North Star Way plans to publish On Fire by John O’Leary, about a survivor of a childhood accident where 98% of his body was burnt, as well as a title by teenage entrepreneur and motivational speaker Maya Pen.
