Bestsellers this week

The film tie-in edition of American Sniper (Chris Kyle, Scott McEwen & Jim DeFelice, HarperCollins) has jumped from fourth to first spot in this week’s top 10 bestsellers chart and is number one in the fastest movers chart. This title is one of many film-related titles to make a showing in the charts this week with the tie-ins for Wild (Cheryl Strayed, Atlantic Books) and Gone Girl (Gillian Flynn, Hachette) appearing in fifth and ninth place respectively in the bestsellers chart. Wild is also this week’s second fastest mover. The rest of the fastest movers chart is populated with titles that have recently released or forthcoming film adaptations. They include: Still Alice (Lisa Genova, Simon & Schuster), the Fifty Shades Trilogy Boxed Set (E L James, Arrow Books) and Unbroken (Laura Hillenbrand, Fourth Estate). Romance fiction is dominating the highest new entries chart with the top spot going to O’Hurley Born (Nora Roberts, Harlequin Mills & Boon) and the rest of the top five made up entirely of Mira titles—Books+Publishing (source: Nielsen BookScan, week ending 24 January 2015)
