Diamond Dagger awarded to Catherine Aird

In the UK, Crime Writer’s Association (CWA) has awarded the Diamond Dagger award to Catherine Aird, reports the Bookseller. The CWA presents the award to authors who have ‘sustained excellence in their careers and made a significant contribution to crime fiction published in English’. Aird has written more than 20 novels and several collections of short stories. Aird said ‘I’m so glad to be part of such a happy group as the CWA and we do all tend to read each other’s work. I think I’ve enjoyed writing my books probably more than my readers have enjoyed reading them.’ The Diamond Dagger will be presented to Aird at the CWA Dagger Awards ceremony on 30 June during Crime Reading Month.
