The Folio Prize 2015 shortlist announced

In the UK, the shortlist for the 2015 Folio Prize has been announced. The eight shortlisted titles are: 10:04 (Ben Lerner, Granta), All My Puny Sorrows (Miriam Toews, Faber), Dept. of Speculation (Jenny Offill, Granta), Dust (Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor, Granta), Family Life (Akhil Sharma, Faber), How to Be Both (Ali Smith, Penguin), Nora Webster (Colm Tóibín, Picador) and Outline (Rachel Cusk, Faber). The Folio Prize is open to novels published in the UK, with no restriction on the writer’s country of origin or the genre of the work. The winner of the £40,000 (A$78,070) prize will be announced on 23 March. The Folio Prize Fiction Festival returns for a second year at the British Library, running from 20-23 March in the lead up to the prize announcement and will open with the Folio Society Lecture, a new initiative for the festival, featuring Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
