Newcastle Writers Festival program announced

The program for the 2015 Newcastle Writers Festival, to be held on 20-22 March, is now available online.

The opening night of the festival will feature Helen Garner, Jessica Rudd and Michael Robotham in conversation with Caroline Baum on the topic ‘The Book That Changed Me’, hosted by ABC Radio’s James Valentine. Other festival highlights include a ‘War of Words’ session on free speech and hate speech with Russell Blackford, Jane Caro and Tim Wilson.

Among the authors participating in this year’s festival are: Les Murray, Bob Brown, Don Watson, P M Newton, Geraldine Doogue, Favel Parrett, Brooke Davis and Blanche d’Alpuget. As previously reported by Books+Publishing, the children’s program will include sessions with Melina Marchetta, Garth Nix, Susanne Gervay, Claire Dunn and Kaz Delaney.
