Readerlink acquires Baker & Taylor publishing, warehouse units

US book distributor Readerlink Distribution Services has acquired Baker & Taylor Publishing Group (BTPG) and Baker & Taylor Marketing Services US (BTMS), reports Publishers Weekly. Under the agreement, Readerlink takes over Baker & Taylor’s Indianapolis distribution centre, as well as BTPG’s general offices in San Diego and editorial offices in Oregon. BTPG publishes around 500 titles annually through the imprints Silver Dolphin, Thunder Bay, Canterbury Classics and Portable Press. Readerlink will re-brand the publishing operation as Printers Row Publishing Group and re-brand BTMS, which distributes books to warehouse clubs, as Readerlink Marketing Services. Readerlink said no office or staff changes are planned.
