PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction 2015 finalists announced

The finalists have been announced for the 2015 PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction, which recognises the best work of fiction published in the preceding year by an American author. The finalists are: Song of the Shank (Jeffery Renard Allen, Graywolf Press); Prayers for the Stolen (Jennifer Clement, Vintage); Preparation for the Next Life (Atticus Lish, Oneworld); Station Eleven (Emily St John Mandel, Picador); and Dept of Speculation (Jenny Offill, Granta). The winner will receive US$15,000 (A$19,650) and four finalists receive US$5000 (A$6550). The winner will be announced on 7 April and the award ceremony will be held on 2 May.
