Independent Foreign Prize 2015 longlist announced

In the UK, the longlist been announced for the 2015 Independent Foreign Prize, run by literary charity Booktrust. The prize honours the best work of fiction by a living author ‘translated into English from any other language and published in the United Kingdom’. Among the 15 authors on the longlist are Japanese author Haruki Murakami, Norwegian author Karl Ove Knausgaard, German debut authors Stefanie de Velasco and Timur Vermes, and Korean debut author Jung-myng Lee. A shortlist of six books will be announced on April ahead of the winner announcement in May. Both the winning author and translator will receive £5000 (A$9700).
