New Faber membership program launches in the UK

In the UK, Faber is launching a two-tiered membership program, which will offer discounts, access to members-only events and special collector’s editions of the publisher’s titles, reports the Bookseller. The free ‘Faber Members’ tier includes invitations to members-only events and masterclasses, a 15% discount on titles sold on Faber’s website and Faber Academy courses, and the chance to buy specially produced hardback collector’s editions of Faber titles. A new collector’s edition will be available each month, starting with a £50 ($A97) hardback edition of Kazuo Ishiguro’s The Buried Giant in March. The ‘Faber Collector’ tier, which costs £500 (A$970), includes a 25% discount on titles and courses, a free one-day Faber Academy course and a year’s worth of collector’s editions. Forthcoming collector’s editions will include Seamus Heaney’s New Selected Poems 1966-1987, P D James’ Cover Her Face, Milan Kundera’s The Unbearable Lightness of Being and Simon Armitage’s Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Director of Faber Press Henry Volans said the publisher was ‘delighted to announce a unique membership scheme to reward our readers as never before and in a way that only Faber can’.
