Booksellers NZ conference program released

The theme of this year’s Booksellers NZ Conference is ‘Changing Hearts and Minds: Future Proofing Your Business’, to be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Auckland on 21 June.

Confirmed sessions include Retail NZ CEO Mark Johnston on the future of retailing in New Zealand; Nielsen BookData sales and marketing manager Nevena Nikolic on consumer trends, including ‘some insights on ebook purchasing behaviour’; and Matt Bialostocki from Unity Books Wellington and Anita Kingston from Paper Plus Remuera, both recipients of this year’s Booksellers NZ Scholarship, on what they learned at the American Booksellers Association’s Winter Institute conference.

The conference will also include an industry forum, the Booksellers NZ AGM and the Nielsen Industry Awards, and will be followed by a business meeting day on Monday 22 June. A keynote speaker is yet to be announced.
