PRH uses Tumblr in marketing recruitment drive

In the UK, Penguin Random House (PRH) has launched a new recruitment drive on Tumblr to attract the ‘marketers of tomorrow’, reports the Bookseller. Four people will join PRH under ‘The Scheme’, a 13-month entry-level program designed to find people who may not have previously considered a career in publishing, and to consider people’s potential rather than their experience. Candidates will be asked seven questions designed by PRH around ‘seven qualities of success’, rather than submit a CV. In the second stage, candidates will complete a creative challenge via video interview. Neil Morrison, HR director at PRH UK and international, said: ‘By using Tumblr to recruit, we’re able to reach young people in the places where they’re already spending their time online. We want to hear new voices, see different perspectives, and find fresh ways to tell our stories.’
