PEN Literary Awards 2015 longlists announced

The longlists for the 2015 PEN Literary Awards have been announced. Among the awards is the PEN/Robert W Bingham Prize, worth US$25,000 (A$32,277), which is presented to an author whose debut work ‘represents distinguished literary achievement and suggests great promise’. The longlisted titles are: The UnAmericans (Molly Antopol, Fourth Estate), Ruby (Cynthia Bond, Random House), Black Moon (Kenneth Calhoun, Vintage), Redeployment (Phil Klay, Canongate Books), Ride Around Shining (Chris Leslie-Hynan, HarperCollins), The Dog (Jack Livings, Penguin), The Wives of Los Alamos (TaraShea Nesbit, Bloomsbury), The Heaven of Animals (David James Poissant, S&S), Love Me Back (Merritt Tierce, Doubleday); Time of the Locust (Morowa Yejidé, Atria Books). Other longlists in the categories of nonfiction, essays, biography, translation, and science and sports writing were also announced. The finalists will be announced on 15 April and winners will be announced on 13 May. Read the full longlists here.
