Arthur C Clarke Award 2015 shortlist announced

In the UK, the shortlist for the 2015 Arthur C Clarke Award for science-fiction has been announced. The six shortlisted titles are: The Girl with All the Gifts (M R Carey, Orbit); The Book of Strange New Things (Michel Faber, Canongate); Europe in Autumn (Dave Hutchinson, Solaris); Memory of Water (Emmi Itäranta, HarperVoyager); The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August (Claire North, Orbit); and Station Eleven (Emily St John Mandel, Picador). All six authors are first-time nominees for the award. The winner of the prize, which is worth £2015 (A$3900), will be announced at a ceremony in London on 6 May. The Arthur C Clarke Award is presented annually for the best science-fiction novel published in the UK in the previous calendar year.
