S&S US targets travellers with ebooks via Foli

In the US, Simon & Schuster (S&S) is partnering with content delivery app Foli to target travellers by offering a selection of free ebooks available in hotels, airports and museums, reports Publishers Weekly. David McCullough’s The Wright Brothers (released in Australia by S&S in June) will be featured at the National Air & Space Museum and 50 venues in the US from 15 May. The app will also offer 18 titles though a group of participating hotels and airport lounges. Users can use a tablet provided by a hotel or download the Foli app to freely access a range of ebooks and magazines within the geographic locations of partner businesses and the user can purchase a copy of the ebook at any time. The app also offers titles such as Stephen King’s Revival (Hodder), Anna Todd’s After (Gallery Books) and Walter Isaacson’s The Innovators (S&S). Hotels involved in the program include The Algonquin in New York City, which previously partnered with S&S, the Stanford Court in San Francisco and the Four Seasons in Silicon Valley, California.
