Beveridge wins Peter Porter Poetry Prize

Judith Beveridge has won the Australian Book Review (ABR) Peter Porter Poetry Prize for her poem ‘As Wasps Fly Upwards’. Beveridge’s poem was chosen for the $5000 prize from a shortlist of six. The other shortlisted poets Eileen Chong, Toby Fitch, John Kinsella, Kate Middleton and Alex Skovron each receive $500. Beveridge said she was ‘deeply honoured’ to win the prize, ‘not only because of the high regard I have for Peter Porter’s poetry and for Australian Book Review, but also because of the very strong 2015 shortlist’.
