Hachette US, James Patterson launch children’s imprint

Hachette US and author James Patterson have launched a new children’s imprint called Jimmy Patterson, reports the Bookseller. The imprint, which was announced at Book Expo America, will publish books by Patterson and other writers and provide resources that ‘will go to scholarships for teachers, helping bookstores to survive, helping school libraries in their time of great need, and increase the reach of [Patterson’s pro-reading website] ReadKiddoRead.com’, said Patterson. The author will also donate his profits to improve children’s literacy. The imprint is currently only available in the US, and will release its first book—the third in Patterson’s ‘Treasure Hunters’ series—in September.
