Dymocks Hay Street to reopen

Dymocks’ flagship store in Perth will reopen in July.

The Hay Street store, which closed on 14 June as its lease had come to an end, announced on its Facebook page that it would ‘reopen as a company store’. The store was previously run by franchisees.

‘The store has been saved thanks to some smart people at Dymocks Head Office,’ said Dymocks Hay Street on Facebook. ‘We truly thought we were closing the doors for good but then some very cool stuff happened … You sent us letters, emails, and made yourselves heard on social media … You helped us prove that our store is special and it deserves to stay open!’

The store said the store will re-open in July as a company store, but that they are looking for a new franchise owner.

Dymocks managing director Steve Cox said they have received overwhelming customer feedback that the Perth readers want the CBD location. ‘This store has been at the heart of the Perth booklover community for over 20 years, and we believe strongly in the future opportunity to grow and expand our business in Western Australia,’ said Cox.
