Oyster introduces feature to reduce ereading eyestrain
Ebook subscription service Oyster has introduced a new feature designed to reduce ereading eyestrain by adjusting a device’s screen to the light around it, reports Publishers Weekly. Lumin, which is available via an update of the Oyster app for Apple an Android devices, eliminates the blue light emitted from screens and replaces it with a softer amber light. ‘Lumin causes screens to adjust constantly and mirror what happens with natural light,’ said Oyster CPO Willem Van Lancker, who added that the technology ‘makes Oyster feel like reading a print book’.
