Harlequin launches reader rewards program

In the US and Canada, Harlequin has launched a new rewards program for its readers, reports the Bookseller. Readers who sign up to the Harlequin My Rewards website earn rewards by buying books and sharing book reviews and other book information online. Readers can earn rewards when they buy books both online and in physical bookshops, as they can upload a photo of their receipt online to be verified by a program developed by Harlequin with technology company PunchTab. The rewards include autographed books, gift baskets and Skype conversations with Harlequin authors. Harlequin CEO Craig Swinwood said of the program: ‘We have the most active and dedicated readers in the industry and, with Harlequin My Rewards, we’ve created a specialised way of recognising and rewarding them wherever or however they read or even for interacting with us.’
