Funded by NUW, the Fair Australia Prize offers four $5000 prizes for works of fiction, essays, poetry and cartoons and illustrations. The prize asks writers and artists to engage with topics such as ‘what does a fair Australia look like, and how do we get there?’ and ‘imagine a new political agenda for Australia’.

Winners will be announced in late July. Winning entries will be published in a ‘Fair Australia’ supplement in Overland 220, to be launched in Melbourne in August.
