Neurosurgery memoir wins PEN/Ackerley Prize

The £3000 (A$6115) PEN/Ackerley Prize for a work of memoir or autobiography has been awarded to neurosurgeon Henry Marsh for his memoir Do No Harm: Stories of Life, Death and Brain Surgery (Weidenfeld & Nicolson), reports the Bookseller. Chair of judges Peter Parker described the memoir, which has been shortlisted for the Costa Biography Award, the Guardian First Book Award and the Wellcome Book Prize, as ‘beautifully written, recklessly honest and morally complex’.
