NZ to hold its first national bookshop day

Booksellers New Zealand will hold its first national bookshop day on Saturday 31 October 2015. NZ Bookshop Day, which aims to celebrate and publicise local bookstores, is based on similar promotions in Australia, the UK and the US. ‘We would like to piggyback on their success and become linked with this global phenomenon,’ said Booksellers NZ in a statement. The tagline for the day is ‘Your Place, Your Bookshop’, chosen through a membership store competition. Booksellers NZ will support the day with a PR campaign; bookshop ambassadors; competitions; and point-of-sale kits, including posters, bookmarks, balloons, bunting and book bags.
