PRH to publish new Tim Winton book in September

Penguin Random House imprint Hamish Hamilton will publish Island Home: A Landscape Memoir by Tim Winton on 23 September.

The collection of nonfiction writing explores Winton’s relationship with the Australian landscape and ‘how it determined his ideas, his writing and his life’.

‘I’m increasingly mindful of the degree to which geography, distance and weather have moulded my sensory palate, my imagination and expectations,’ said Winton in a statement. ‘The island continent has not been mere background.’

Penguin publishing director Ben Ball described Island Home as ‘a revelation—an insight into the life and work of one of our finest authors and an inspiration about how to live in and listen to this land.’.

Penguin has published an extract from the book on its website.
