Stella to launch schools program in NSW

The Stella Prize is launching its School Program in NSW on 9 September, with a free event in Sydney for teachers, librarians and students.

The event, to be held at the Sydney Story Factory in Redfern, will feature authors Randa Abdel-Fattah, J C Burke, Erin Gough and Emily Maguire in a panel discussion on how unconscious bias has affected their reading habits, and how their books address issues of gender and diversity.

The Schools Program, which was first offered in Victoria in 2014, is designed for secondary school students and offers teaching notes on the Stella Prize-shortlisted books for years 10 to 12, resources for teachers and librarians, practical writing workshops and school visits from writers, educators and publishers.
