New writers’ and readers’ centre opens on the Gold Coast

A new writers’ and readers’ centre, Writers Activation, has opened on the Gold Coast.

The centre is run by writer Helen Stubbs, who was awarded a grant by the Gold Coast city council to ‘activate’ the space on Scarborough Street in Southport. It offers group writing sessions, workshops, seminars and author readings; facilitates meetings for writers; and promotes books by local authors.

The centre will officially launch with an event on 20 August, with local authors, editors, illustrators and publishers among the guests. For more information about the centre, visit the website here.
