Co-op employee a finalist for Young Retailer of the Year

The Co-op’s University of Queensland St Lucia store trainee manager Thomas Riek has been named a finalist in the National Retail Association’s (NRA) Young Retailer of the Year Award. Twenty-five-year-old Riek, who has been with the Co-op for one year, was one of 25 finalists and was recognised as making the judge’s top 10. The award was presented to Medina Cicak from KFC Australia at a ceremony in Sydney on 7 September. ‘It’s so pleasing to see Thomas’ hard work, talent and dedication to the success of the Co-op has not gone unnoticed,’ said Co-op CEO Peter Knock. ‘He really is an attribute to the business, and all of us here at the Co-op are extremely proud of this huge achievement.’ The awards, now in their 42nd year, recognise the contributions of employees aged 25.
