Kinney, Griffiths headline SWF Children’s Festival of Moving Stories

‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ author Jeff Kinney will join local author Andy Griffiths for a two-hour event at the Sydney Writers’ Festival (SWF) Children’s Festival of Moving Stories on 8 November.

The event, which is Kinney’s only public appearance in Australia, is the first on his world tour to promote his 10th ‘Wimpy Kid’ book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Old School! (Puffin, November). The City Recital Hall in the Sydney CBD is hosting the event.

The festival runs throughout November, and features free events for children and schools across Greater Western Sydney. Events include a children’s author roadshow to local libraries; Russ the Story Bus, a ‘creative space’ filled with new and pre-loved books; and a primary school day at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre in Penrith.

Participating authors include Tristan Bancks, Felicity Gardner, Jacqueline Harvey, Robert Hoge, David Legge, Sally Rippin and Emily Rodda. For more information, visit the SWF website here.
