LBF moves to March in 2017 to avoid book fair ‘bottleneck’

The London Book Fair (LBF) will take place on 14-16 March in 2017 to avoid a ‘bottleneck’ of book fairs, reports Publishers Weekly. The move will put space between LBF and the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, which will be held on 3-6 April in 2017. In recent years the two trade fairs have both been scheduled in April, and LBF director Jacks Thomas said moving the fair to March in 2017 ‘seemed to be the best solution to a logistical problem of these two important shows otherwise being back-to-back’. The 2016 Bologna Children’s Book Fair is set to take place on 4-7 April and LBF on 12-14 April in 2016, with event organisers stating that concessions will be made to alleviate the overlap.
