Bestsellers this week

Both paperback and hardback editions of Old School (Jeff Kinney), the latest instalment in the blockbuster ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ series, have climbed into the charts in their first week of release. The paperback edition (Puffin) tops both the overall bestsellers and the highest new entries charts, and the hardback (Viking) has climbed to fifth in the highest new entries. Jamie Oliver’s September release Everyday Super Food (Michael Joseph) has surged back into the charts and risen to second spot in the top 10, as well as topping the fastest movers chart, where it sits ahead of soccer player Tim Cahill’s autobiography Legacy (HarperCollins) and The Battles of Fromelles and Pozires (Peter FitzSimons, William Heinemann). Elsewhere in the charts, fiction makes a strong showing with releases from Judy Nunn (Spirits of the Ghan, William Heinemann), Kate Morton (The Lake House, A&U) and Di Morrissey (Rain Music, Macmillan) rounding out the rest of the top five overall bestsellers, and new titles from Stephen King (The Bazaar of Bad Dreams, Hachette) and Nora Roberts (Stars of Fortune, Hachette) debuting in second and third spot on the highest new entries chart. Only two colouring book are to be found on the charts: Millie Marotta’s Tropical Wonderland and Millie Marotta’s Animal Kingdom (both Batsford), which occupy sixth and seventh spot respectively in the overall top 10—Books+Publishing (source: Nielsen BookScan, week ending 7 November 2015)
