Stella Prize launches ‘Stella Sparks’ fundraising campaign

The Stella Prize is running a new fundraising campaign to ‘ensure the sustainability of the Stella Prize as an organisation’ and ‘celebrate and recognise the importance of writing by women’.

Those who donate a minimum of $100 ($50 concession) before 30 April become an official ‘Stella Spark’, and receive benefits such as free entry to the Sparks Launch Party and Stella Prize longlist announcement in Melbourne on 9 February, the opportunity to enter the Stella Sparks Pen Pal program, and free issues of select literary journals.

The campaign is also encouraging readers to share ‘the book by an Australian woman that struck a spark for you, igniting ideas, creativity and passion for great writing’ through photos and stories on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

In a statement, the Stella Prize described the campaign as ‘much more than a donations drive’. ‘We want to talk about just how important writing by women is in all of our lives, hearts and minds.’
