Adelaide Writers’ Week 2016 program launched

The 2016 Adelaide Writers’ Week program has been launched.

The event will run from Saturday 27 February to Thursday 3 March at the Pioneer Women’s Memorial Garden in Adelaide. As previously reported by Books+Publishing, the line-up of international guests includes Lisa Genova (US), Muriel Barbery (FRA), travel writer Simon Winchester (UK), journalist Masha Gessen (RUS), Paolo Bacigalupi (US), Patrick deWitt (CAN), Etgar Keret (ISR) and Andrew O’Hagan (UK).

Other international guests include Jesse Ball (US), Jim Shepard (US), Lauren Groff (US) and Joanna Walsh (UK).

Among the newly announced Australian and New Zealand authors on the program are Debra Adelaide, Craig Munro, Fiona McFarlane, Mireille Juchau and Stephanie Bishop.

The Kids’ Weekend children’s program runs from Saturday 27 February to 28 February. Guests include Lucy Cousins, Andy Griffiths and Evelyn Roth’s Nylon Zoo.

This year’s ticketed session, Bitter, is a four-hour lunchtime event with Canadian author and chef Jennifer McLagan. The event will include lunch, wine and a discussion of ‘why good food matters’.

The Adelaide Writers’ Week is part of the Adelaide Festival, which runs from Friday 26 February to Sunday 14 March. For more information, visit the Adelaide Festival website here.
